Abstract: |
The first evidence of human activity on the site was the occurance of a few sherds of 12th-century pottery. The earliest features to be discovered on site was a number of shallow pits which had been deliberatley backfilled with pottery kiln waste dating to the 14th century. The only evidence for a medieval building found during the excavation was an early 14th-century north/south wall, which was most probably the rear wall of a house fronting St Thomas Street.[Au(abr)] |
