Abstract: |
A desk-based assessment and photographic survey were undertaken at the Elms, Stapleton, Bristol. No significant archaeological deposits were identified in the study area. It seemed likely that the general area may have been exploited since at least the Neolithic period. The name Stapleton may indicate a Saxon origin for the village, and it was clear that the village was an important settlement during the medieval period. [Au] |
