Abstract: |
<summary>11 trenches were excavated as part of the restoration programme of the garden at The Wakes. A number of features were identified, including a robber trench, associated with the removal of an 18th century wall known as the "Fruit Wall", the fragmentary remains of a pathway, and a linear stone feature, possibly the stone sill of a timber barn recorded in 1766. An 18th century ditch marking the limit of the garden was also recorded. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea}{italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} SU73SW55-57 |
