Abstract: |
An archaeological impact assessment found that the sites of a medieval chapel and hermitage and the original building of the Bull Inn, dating to sometime in the 17th century, were believed to be within the assessment site. The 1940s public house building contained extensive cellars, extending across much of its footprint. Given the height of the natural London Clay deposits on the adjacent site, it was highly likely that any archaeological remains within the footprint of the former public house would have been severely truncated.
