Abstract: |
An assessment, with rapid field survey was carried out as part of a plan to create a caravan park in an area of woodland. Information was sought from a wide selection of maps, and information concerning a former brickworks was gathered. Earthworks identified during the field visit were identified on the earliest surviving map for the area, and were dated to pre-1701. It was recommended that a more detailed survey be carried out to clarify these finds in order to minimise the effects of any development on this extensive early industrial landscape. [Au(adp)] |
