Abstract: |
The assessment showed that the site lay in an area of considerable archaeological potential of all periods from the Roman to the post-medieval. However the report concluded that although the potential was high in terms of the location of the site, most of the archaeological resource would have been destroyed during the construction of the existing building. A small area at the rear of the building, which had a shallower basement, may have preserved a limited amount of horizontal stratigraphy. There may have been isolated remains of deep cut features across the remainder of the site. [Au(adp)] |
