Abstract: |
A series of test pits were excavated under archaeological supervision on the proposed re-lining of a water pipe system. The village of Ebchester was built directly over the Roman Fort of Vindomora, a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Few archaeological remains came to light during excavations. This was partly due to the probable truncation of deposits by 20th century building work, and the width of the water pipe trench and other service trenches. [Au(abr)] |
