The discovery of hoard F in 1990, which comprised a 9.2kg mass of broken metalwork that contained fragments from at least fifty torcs, seventy ingot rings/bracelets, three straight ingots and nine coins, indicated that ploughing had not destroyed all the evidence from this site. Subsequent archaeological investigations revealed five further hoards containing similar material in gold, silver, copper alloy and bronze. It is suggested that the idea that they were deposited as some kind of treasury is preferable to the idea that they formed some sort of votive deposit. An inquest found the gold and silver items to be Treasure Trove and they were eventually transferred to the British Museum.

Post-processual archaeology and feminist studies ostensibly share similar aims with regard to making insidious beliefs and value judgements explicit. However, it is suggested that post-processualism paradoxically continues to adhere to an `unreflected sense of being right'.
