Timely rescue of Brunel's canal bridge

On a newly discovered I K Brunel iron bridge, dated 1838, which carried Bishop's Bridge Road across the Grand Union Canal at Paddington, west London. The cast ironwork and facing bricks were dismantled to allow for a road widening scheme and put into temporary storage, pending the identification of a suitable place and the raising of funds to re-erect it. The structure has been recorded by measurement and photography.
