The architectural and geophysical investigation of a possible apsidal chancel at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Stoke sub Hamdon, Somerset 1999
James Gerrard
Sally Mills

Interim report on a project to investigate the archaeology and history of the Church of St Mary the Virgin at Stoke sub Hamdon, describing investigations of the east end of the chancel. The authors present evidence that the east wall of the church was rebuilt during the fifteenth century, and that geophysical anomalies exist immediately to the east of the chancel which suggest that the east end of the church may once have been apsidal.
