Abstract
The excavation of a Neolithic hut floor on Cefn Glas, Rhondda, 1971-4
D Clayton
Hubert N Savory
13 - 20
Report on a hut floor which appears slightly trapezoidal, although this may be the result of a slight `bowing out' when the building was complete rather than deliberate design. It is thirty feet long, an exceptional length for a British example, which allows for the theory that it may represent a succession of two smaller huts. The concomitant flint assemblage contained Mesolithic and Neolithic examples including, from the latter period, petit--tranchet derivative arrowhead types, typical of the Secondary Neolithic culture.
A preliminary survey of some undated small settlements in north-east Wales
John Manley
21 - 55
Examples were assessed with regard to area size, shape, position, form, ancillary features, rate of discovery, condition and subdivisions. An appendix listing `Small enclosures in Clwyd: "probables"' also includes general comments on location, as well as a reference to the original source of data.
Bee boles and other beekeeping structures in Wales
Penelope Walker
William Linnard
56 - 73
Details of the walling materials used in bee boles, the types of property they are found in, their numbers and positions in the properties, their orientation, shape and size are given. Reference is also made to other structures, including alcoves, bee shelters, bee houses and skeps. Includes an appendix giving a `List of sites in Wales' (70-3).
