Repeats the limited known history of a pair of Iron Age helmets found in the Vale of Glamorgan in 1818.

Investigations within an early nineteenth-century house revealed its layout and structural history. The house had been built c. 1820 on arable land and an inhumation cemetery. The remains of a minimum of twenty-eight adult individuals were recovered. Three forms of burial could be detected, a cist grave, row graves and more random interments. Archaeological investigations carried out in the medieval town of Pembroke, close to the castle, included four burgage plots on the north side of Castle Terrace. The investigation revealed deeply stratified deposits dating from the thirteenth to the twentieth centuries. Boreholes demonstrate the presence of deep waterlogged deposits nearby. Castell Dinas Brân is surrounded by an earthwork which appears to be a simple Iron Age hillfort. Other earthworks exist in the vicinity and it is suggested that all are medieval. The earthworks are described and a chronological sequence is suggested.
