Reports on a pilot project examining modern beaver (Castor fiber) habitats in France in an attempt to identify landscape modifications that might be apparent in the palaeoenvironmental record. Results of analyses for sediments, pollen, and molluscs are presented here, while further papers covering other aspects are proposed.
A submerged site off Bouldnor Cliff, Isle of Wight, England

Reports on research centred on a submerged forest of Yarmouth, Isle of Wight. Humanly worked burnt flints (exhibiting technology of the early to mid Mesolithic) have been found and a wood sample has been 14C dated to 6615--6395 BC.

Summarises findings of a series of excavations undertaken since 1980 on the site of a crannog that now lies on the edge of the remnant of a drained lake. Evidence was found for occupation in the following periods: Mesolithic (c 4300--4000 BC); Neolithic (c 3000 BC); Early/Middle Bronze Age (c 1880--1680 BC); Late Bronze Age (c 890--790 BC); Early Medieval (c AD 600--800); and High Medieval (c AD 1200--1350).
