Abstract
A comparison of the fabric of Roman briquetage from Silchester and a number of Kentish sites
Samples of briquetage from Silchester and five Roman sites in Kent were submitted for a petrological analysis of the fabrics involved, it being suspected that the material from Silchester may possibly have originated in Kent. Thin sectioning does not directly support this, although there were similarities in fabric between some of the material from the Kentish sites (Canterbury, Upchurch, Thanet, Romney Marsh and Folkestone) to suspect local distribution.
