Abstract: |
Nearly 190kg of slag and other residues were recovered from eleventh to nineteenth century contexts. Most of the 150kg of iron smithing slags came from two phases representing the third quarter of the thirteenth century and the mid fourteenth century. There was also some evidence for iron smelting. A small amount of non-ferrous metalworking appears to have been carried out in the sixteenth century. Au |
