Abstract: |
The location and condition of 906 sites, ranging in date from 4000 BC to AD 1500, which constitute a major part of the Cotswold region's archaeological resource, are described and analysed. Plough-damage to rural sites, particularly those of prehistoric and Romano-British date, is shown to be serious, not even scheduled sites having escaped damage. Recommendations are made for the preservation and excavation of specific sites and a research programme is outlined. Au(adp) |
