Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken at Byways, Bracknell. The aim of the fieldwork was to assess the impact of development on any surviving archaeological remains and to establish the presence or absence of a prehistoric flint knapping platform discovered close to the site in 1959. No archaeological features were identified within the trenches. The subsoil and natural sands from the test pits were sieved for finds in 0.25m thick spits, which revealed a range of post medieval and modern artefacts, as well as two sherds of medieval green glazed pottery and some sherds of possible prehistoric pot. |
