Abstract: |
During repairs to the basement ceiling in advance of adding a fire screen, 38 timbers showing evidence of re-use were revealed. These were used as principal and common joists of the rooms above and are thought to be of 16th century date. One of the rooms, Room 2, had a floor surface of brick and tile, and was considered of sufficient interest to merit a photographic and written record. |
