Abstract: |
In February 2006 an archaeological evaluation and was undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group at E10 Enterprise Park, Argall Way, Leyton. The site was centred on NGR TQ3618 8719. The evaluation work comprised of the excavation of four trenches measuring 14.00m x 2.00m, 17.50m x 2.00m and two 15.00m x 2.00m, located to assess the impact of the proposed development plan on any surviving archaeological remains. Several paleo-channels were recorded in two of the four trenches. These appear to have formed naturally, possibly associated with the River Lee, and were filled by a layer of alluvial wash. Two fragments of fire cracked flint were recovered from the site. |
