Abstract:		 On 28th September 2004 an archaeological watching brief was undertaken at 28 West Street, Olney. The site was within the historic area of Olney, and was also in an area where there was potential for discovery of Roman period remains. Excavation of footing trenches for additional living space had the potential to destroy or disturb these remains. The excavation of the trenches was monitored but no archaeological remains were observed. The area had been extensively disturbed, probably during the construction of the present house. Modern service runs had caused additional disturbance.
