Abstract: |
The project took the form of several excavations and a watching brief at the site of a proposed new development at Newton Abbot. the trenches to the south of Bradley lane revealed extensive remains of the tanning pits which formed part of the vicar''s tannery, the largest in the south-west of England until its closure in 1930. The trenches at Wolborough street revealed 13th-15 century remains along with evidence for post medieval metal working. |
