Abstract:
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during groundworks connected with the refurbishment of St John''s Hospital Chapel. Floors dated to the 18th and 19th centuries were removed. An occupation surface was revealed which had been cut by the south wall of the chapel. Outside the chapel medieval walls were exposed as were medieval or post-medieval graves.
