Abstract: |
A field evaluation on a plot of land to the rear of Oakwood, a 16th Century timber framed Listed building, prior to the proposed plans for a building by the client Mr C. Gregory. Two trenches, 10m x 1.8m, were excavated in the area of the proposed development. Trench 1 was oriented east-west and included a ditch feature in the western edge, presumed to be the medieval burgage plot boundary, with more recent activity overlaying it. Trench 2 was oriented north-south but produced no significant archaeology. |
