Abstract:
Building recording, to Level 3 standard, of vernacular farmstead of c. 1620 with later alterations. Original door surround and mullioned windows on north indicate (together with historic map evidence) that entry was originally from north side but this later changed, perhaps in 18th century, to south side. Southern facade altered accordingly with replacement of original mullioned windows with Georgian casements. Internal alterations, probably also in 18th century, included insertion of new stairway in northern part of building. This led to alteration of 1st storey layout, with original corridor on south side being removed and replaced with one on the north. One of the bedrooms also seems to have been divided by insertion of a partition at that time. A porch was subsequently added to the southern frontage.
