Abstract:
In 1996 the Buildings and Conservation Section of Norfolk County Council produced plans to refurbish Waxham Great Barn and its associated wings. The Norfolk Archaeological Unit was commissioned to undertake various archaeological interventions. In 1997 the excavation of a pipe trench was monitored, revealing a modern track surface (Gaffney 1997). An excavation took place in August and September 2003, with a watching brief undertaken between September 2003 and February 2004. This report presents the results of the work carried out in 2003-4
