Abstract: |
Two evaluation trenches were excavated by NAU Archaeology to the east and west of an existing building in South Walsham, prior to its renovation. The building stands on land north of, and adjacent to, St Mary''s Church. The evaluation was required to ascertain whether or not the programme of building work was likely to disturb human remains, or other significant archaeological deposits. The fieldwork took place on a single day, the 27th of February 2008. Two intercutting post-medieval pits and an undated shallow ditch were recorded. No human remains were found. |
