Abstract:		 In June 2007 an archaeological evaluation was undertaken at land adjacent to 2 Market Square, Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes, in advance of the construction of a new house. Two trenches were excavated within the footprint of the proposed building. A number of modern pits and a single posthole were present, cutting into a sequence of late post-medieval/modern cobbled surfaces. Below the lower of these surfaces part of a limestone structure was revealed. The presence of a single sherd of Potterspury ware pottery dated the structure to the 14th-16th centuries.
