Abstract: |
Archaeological investigations were carried out in the churchyard immediately to the north of the Church of St Mary and St Andrew, Whittlesford. The work consisted of an excavation inadvance of an extension to the Church and Standing Building Recording of the north wall. Several burials were lifted and passed directly to the Church for reburial, some early Saxon pits were identified, and a burial predating the current Church was retained for analysis. Monitoring of the North wall during building work revealed a possible medieval door hanging ''in situ''. |
