Abstract: |
Evidence for the presence of archaeological activity on the site was identified within the ten trenches investigated. Amongst other features excavated on the site pits and postholes may represent early medieval occupation fronting East Street, a medieval pond was recorded at the rear of the site and a rectangular feature with timber foundations set in clay was recorded in a trench close to East Road, on an unusual alignment, which dated to the 18th centuary and may represent a building. |
