The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief of geotechnical test-pits for the Darwell to Beauport raw water pipeline from NGR TQ 723 214 to NGR TQ 791 133 in East Sussex, took place between 21st August and 21st November 2006. Due to the proximity of the pipeline to a Scheduled Ancient Monument certain areas were selected for greater scrutiny. For the most part no significant archaeological remains were detected during the monitoring of 19 out of 63 planned geotechnical test-pits. Several very fragmentary remains were recovered from a test-pit close to the site of the Roman Scheduled Ancient Monument, consisting of CBM, iron slag and an iron nail.
