Abstract:		 A report on the archaeological excavation of two post holes for the erection of a new gate into the Bowling Club on Castle Green, Hereford (SAM HE 152). The Civil war soil horizon was identified by the presence of a Charles I silver shilling. Medieval pottery and disturbed human bone was also revealed.
