Abstract: |
Birmingham University Field Archaeology Unit undertook an archaeological evaluation at the Old Crown Inn, Deritend in advance of a proposed development. The evaluation took place in the back-plot curtilage of the property. Whilst only one archaeological feature and two contexts were datable to the medieval period, the quantity of pottery from the pit F111 is significant, and points to the presence of a medieval pottery production centre nearby . |
