Abstract:		 The desk-based assessment located a total of 305 sites from the various sources consulted during the research within 2.5km of the proposed development site. A total of 60 of these lay within the site boundary itself, and within the area likely to undergo a direct impact as a result of the development. As the proposed scheme is likely to require a linear cut across the landscape, a further form of archaeological mitigation is likely.
