Abstract: |
April 2008. Oxford Archaeology carried out a field evaluation at Leycroft Manor Farm, Souldern, Bicester. Four ditches were uncovered during the evaluation. Three of the ditches were revealed close to the southern boundary of site and almost certainly relate to a square enclosure and linear features identified as crop marks in the adjacent field to the south. The ditch in trench 4 produced 1st century Roman pottery and abraded fragments of lava quern. Four undated gullies and a series of medieval or post-medieval plough furrows were also revealed |
