Abstract:		 The watching brief monitored the machine excavation of a pipeline from Wotton Brook, across Church Road, between St. Mary''s Church and The Lodge, northwards towards Trafalgar Road, Lympstone, Devon. Natural allium and marine clays were noted beneath the topoil. To the north of Church Road up to 0.9m of modern made ground was observed overlaying natural subsoil. No features, deposits or artefacts of archaeological significance were observed.
