Abstract: |
Limited archaeological evidence was found during the watching brief carried out during improvement works to The Green. A tarmac road was found aligned north-south, as expected from the evidence provided by OS maps dating 1885-1952. Evidence shows that this road was just grassed over when it went out of use, approximately 40 years ago. Natural geology was located immeadiately below this feature, as well as a 19th or 20th century pipe. Modern services were noted to be running east-west. |
