Abstract:		 This report presents the results of a Rapid Assessment of The Old School House, 57 Leicester Road, Groby, Leicester, LE6 0DQ (SK 526 074), as defined in the English Heritage guidelines Informed Conservation (Clark 2001, 33-34). It has been prepared on behalf of the owners Mr and Mrs Jarvis in response to a request from the Conservation Officer at Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council for further information in respect of proposals to alter the building. The report is intended to provide an overview of the history and development of the building, based on a visual (non-intrusive) appraisal of the structure itself and assessment of readily available historical sources. Its purpose is to provide an understanding of the significance of the building, to highlight areas of risk or uncertainty, and to establish the need for further work if necessary (Clark 2001, 34). The report content should contribute towards the formulation of appropriate and informed planning decisions.
