Abstract: |
A programme of archaeological evaluation was undertaken on land adjacent to Balvalachlan/Lots of Callander, Callander in connection with a planning condition issued by Stirling Council. This evaluation was close to a previously identified cropmark of a prehistoric pallisaded enclosure. This work consisted of trial trenching of 10% of the application area. Two small parallel linear features were identified excavation of which proved one to be a small field drain or gully dated to the post medieval period on the basis of a pottery sherd. The other feature was very insubstantial and excavation proved inconclusive. |
