Abstract: |
An elevation survey of both sides of the bridge was undertaken using a 3D laser scanner. This recorded a number of construction phases to the bridge. The excavation of a single evaluation trench on the east side of the bridge revealed three possible road levels. A further topographical survey of the surrounding landscape also recorded a possible trackway along the east side of the burn to the north of the bridge. No fords or evidence for other crossings were identified to a distance of 100m either to the north or south of the bridge. |
