The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An series of archaeological works were undertaken at Dumbarton Sheriff Court during redevelopment works. The impact of 19th century and later development in the area was significant. Service pipes and building foundations truncated buried soil deposits and cut through natural sand. Although no archaeological features were observed, fragments of green glaze and white ceramic pottery fragments were recovered from the buried horticultural soil. A watching brief undertaken in the area to the south east of the court uncovered the remains of buildings extant until the 1960''s.
