Abstract:		 In July and August 2008, ASC Ltd undertook an archaeological desk-based assessment of land to the rear of Harrold Tennis Club, Harrold, Bedfordshire, as part of the planning application process. The assessment found that the proposed development site lies next door to several areas of archaeological remains, and that the southernmost part of the site lies within the Harrold Conservation Area. The potential for the survival of archaeological remains varies across the site. The western third of the site has limited potential, while the eastern part of the site, which is currently under pasture, contains some earthworks, indicating a higher potential for the survival of archaeological remains.
