Abstract: |
These geophysical surveys (both geomagnetic and electrical) were carried out in order to locate the site of a former 19th century rose garden (HER 6827; Area 2) and medieval road (HER 6828; Areas 3-5). Area 1 was targeted at an area of pipes and slag rock that may represent a 19th century garden. The results from Area 1 were inconclusive. The Area 2 surveys picked up an ovate wall with a path within, interpreted as a sunken part of the garden. Areas 3-4 produced anomalies consistent with a road surface with parallel ditches |
