Abstract: |
October to November 2008 and February 2009. Oxford Archaeology carried out a field evaluation at Ovey's Farm, Cookham which was both preceded and followed by a building recording exercise. The evaluation revealed extensive deposits of garden soils sealing layers of alluvium. In the southern test pits a possible beam slot on the same alignment as the front of the farm house was observed, while another produced evidence of tree throw holes. The building recording exercise produced a descriptive summary of the building that was used as historical back ground in the evaluation report. |
