Abstract:		 March 2006. Oxford archaeology carried out a field evaluation at the proposed Tesco store, Shepton Mallett, Somerset. The evaluation consisted of nine trenches, seven of which contained no archaeology. Of the two trenches that did contain archaeology, one contained the remains of concrete foundations of a possible nearby 19th century industrial building and the other revealed the remains of probable 18th or 19th century cellar walls.
