Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment and evaluation was carried out within a field adjacent to Lochend Avenue/Brunt Place, Dunbar. Cartographic information obtained from Roy's military surrvey suggests that the proposed development area was situated within an area of rig-and-furrow. Trial trenching identified vestigial traces of rig-and-furrow and a small circular pit. Modern pottery from the base of the pit suggests that it is of recent date. Despite the NMRS listing a number of important sites within close proximity to the proposed development area, no features, deposits or artefacts of archaeological significance were identified. |
