Abstract: |
Monitoring of ground-works within and adjacent to the barn (HER 883) revealed information pertaining to its past use (including wood storage and stables) and construction (indicating ground reduction prior to the erection of the 17th-18th century barn). Foundation remains and artefactual evidence also suggest continuity of activity within the barn and the wider site from the 12th century to the present and sets Romp Hall in the wider context of other nearby medieval remains (HER 11551). |
