Abstract: |
The playing field to the west of Yarm Preparatory School was subject to geomagnetic survey (approx. 0.5ha) following a desk based assessment. A Barington Grad601-2 dual fluxgate gradiometer was used on a zig-zag traverse with a sample interval of 0.25m and traverse interval at 1.0m. The survey revealed a north south aligned pattern of land drains at approximate intervals of 0.5m. A series of more ephemeral circular anomalies were found to be natural variations in geology when subject to trial trenching. |
