Abstract: |
In mid February 2007 a widening of the access track to no. 40 Holywell Hill and the excavation of an associated foundation for a retaining wall was observed. The depth and character of the soils were indicative of the deliberate infilling of the ground for the purposes of levelling the terrain. According to the associated finds the dating of this activity is probably sometime during the 19th century. Nothing predating this period was observed. |
