Abstract: |
As the result of an archaeological condition on the planning permission for the conversion to residential use of the former chicken shed at Lockley Farm, Welwyn Herts, the Heritage Network was commissioned to create a record of the builiding. Buildings 1 and 2 date to the development of Lockley Farm, around and existing late 17th century field barn, in the mid 19th century, possibly in the 1860's. It is likely that they were originally intended to be open fronted, but they have been altered and remodelled as the needs of the farm have changed. |
