Abstract: |
CFA Archaeology carried out an archaeological watching brief during all groundbreaking activity to provide service access to 92-93 High Street Haddington. The watching brief identified a number of deposits and features, these were: a number of stone setts which had been re-deposited to make-up the road surface under the High Street, the in-situ and surviving remains of an original stone kerb running parallel to the High Street in an east-west direction and, the probable foundation footings of building 91-93 High Street which are preserved in-situ. The fieldwork also noted a number of modern services, a manhole chamber and a series of deposits which comprise made ground in this area. No other archaeological features were found. |
